Hazmat Instructor (49 CFR 100-180)
DOT Training Solutions LLC is a transportation training and consulting company founded by retired federal and state law enforcement and industry professionals. The team has subject matter expertise in compliance investigations, safety audits, Cargo Tank Registered Inspector training, and hazardous materials inspections, and collaborates with clients to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
Position Summary
This is a full-time or part-time remote role. The Hazmat Instructor will be responsible for educating students on 49 CFR Parts 100-180, hazardous materials, cargo tank testing and inspection, and UN and IM Portable Tank (ISO) inspections.
Essential Qualifications
- Expert knowledge of 49 CFR Parts 100-180
- Registered Cargo Tank Inspector
- Proven experience within the cargo tank, hazardous materials, and transportation industries
- Strong written and verbal skills when presenting to individuals or groups, including adult learners and senior management
- A cheerful outlook and a keen interest in becoming proficient in new topics
- Dependable, organized, motivated, and an initiative-taker
- Customer service and solutions oriented
- Ability and willingness to travel, including overnight travel
- Ability to foster credibility and relationships with vendors, leadership, and Safety professionals
- Proficiency with Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required
